European bridal convention is a wonderful way to celebrate the exclusive nations of Europe and their cultures surrounding love and marriage. Many of these traditions have a specific interpretation and symbolism attached to them, whether it is for success, prosperity or to maintain the terrible spirits at bay. Some of these traditions may appear unusual or foolish to us currently but they are deeply rooted in culture and have been passed down over the years for centuries.

For illustration, in France after the official rites and the gathering, it is classic to obtain outside the honeymooners‘ screen to smash pots and pans with them – this is known as „la charivari“. This is to wish them great fortune and free them from any economic worries they may possess. It is also done to advise them of the joy and excitement that their wedding morning brought them, as well as to deliver them more good wealth in their coming collectively.

Another European wedding tradition is the“ Krevati“. This involves friends and family members placing funds on the couple’s base for fertility, wellbeing and happiness. They often leave a little more than that and if they are very rich, they may even present them with a house or a castle!

Caramelized cashews are even a German wedding tradition. They are given to all visitors who attend a bride and indicate chance, wellness, believe and success. They are usually pinned to the brides clothes by their attendees, much like the bridal bracelets.
